Activities

The school organizes various events and activities which contribute to the all round development of a child and help in achieving the objectives of education.

Academics are an important part of each students’ school years. However there is another more playful component of a well rounded education – extracurricular activities. Besides being fun and a great way to socialize with peers, extracurricular activities can enhance student’s time management and stress management skills, improving overall productivity. Thus the parents should also encourage them to take part in these activities.

INTERNATIONAL  ADOLESCENT SUMMIT

Four students of class X –  {Priyanshu , Ridhima ,  Aryan and Rishika  along with Ms. Kavita Garg (PGT  Eng)} attended International Adolescent Summit on Life Skills, Values, gender and school well being organised  by Expression India from December 6, 2016 to December 8, 2016 at the Summer Fields School in new Delhi.

DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY (DST) INSPIRE CAMP

Ten Students of Class (XI) attended DST Inspire Camp organised by Govt. of India from November 29 to December 3, 2016 at Punjab University, Chandigarh. Many renowned Scientists and I.T. Professors from all over India were there to motivate today’s youth towards research in science field.

XI & XII- General discussion on various careers available based on different steams.

Career Awareness Workshop

(August 29 & 30, 2016)

The 2nd Career Awareness Workshop was held by Wonderskool on August 29 and 30 for the students of classes VIII-XII in the school premises. The objective of the workshop was to make the students aware about different career options. Different topics were covered in different classes.

VIII- Introduction and Overview of Multiple Intelligences (kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intra personal, naturalistic)

IX- Introduction and Overview of Careers in Sciences (Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Computers)

X- Knowledge about various career options available with different subjects.

XI & XII (Science) – Detailed Coverage of Engineering,  Mass communication and Psychology as full fledged career options.

XI & XII (Commerce) – Detailed Coverage of CA and Management as full fledged career options.

Cannabis Eradication Campaign

Students of Class XI participated in Cannabis Eradication Campaign on August 26, 2016 with an object to destroy Cannabis and opium crops. With this act they aimed at to sensitize people about the ill effect of drugs.

Teachers’ Training Workshop

Workshop on identifying the Special Needs of Children was conducted by Dr. Vikas Bhateja (renowned psychologist) on July 30, 2016 in the school premises to make teachers aware about the special needs of children, so that the teachers could provide them the required support to learn and grow.

Teachers’ Training Workshop

The Scholars’ Home organized the workshop on Integrated Education based on Life Skills, Attitude and Values on July 1 & 2 , 2016 in the school by the trainer as the Life Skills are the abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. The Interaction was informative as well as entertaining as it had a wide variety of interesting activities.

Career Awareness Session

The Scholars’ Home organized a ‘Career Awareness Session’ for the parents of classes IX to XII on June 9 and 10, 2016 in the school premises with an objective as the parents. While choosing career for their child can best take the responsibility to help him/her in choosing the right path. Parents are the first and best teacher for the child. Empowering the parent is thus an essential goal of any session. As a parent and not just a researcher, it is very important to bring the parents on board on any aspirations that the child might have.

Orientation Programme

(Session 2016-17)

The Scholars’ Home, home to the scholars’ of Paonta Sahib is a place where creativity is nurtured along with learning of the subjects. As usual, this year also the school wrapped up last year’s session with flying colours. The aim of the school is to create noble human beings, who in trun are going to make this society a better place to live.

Keeping this objective in mind The Orientation Sessions were Organised by The Principal to grow and grown her team, which inorder is going to produce later results in terms of behavior, team work, learning, teaching, understanding, working on the areas of improvement and above all a child friendly environment. This has been a regular practice for years, which has helped many professionals to grow and upgrade their skills. It will not be wrong to say that Quality has no synonym and there is no stone left unturned to meet this in The Scholars’ Home.
